Caton Ave & Rugby Rd, Brooklyn, NY 11226
Coaching soccer can be one of the most rewarding activities for adults interested in helping children. Each Saturday at the Parade Grounds in Brooklyn, the fields are filled with the sounds of kids aged 6-19 playing AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) soccer with passion. This field has changed from a dirt and semi-grass field to one of the finer fileds to play on over the past few years, and is a haven for sports play right in the middle of Brooklyn. This site was considered as a location for the stadium for the Brooklyn Cyclones, which was eventually situated in Coney Island. What a shame it would have been to have cars honking and music blaring rather than the smell of grass and kids running around enjoying friendly competition. The parade grounds also hosts a football field and a baseball field with night time lights. It is a joy to drive by and to see people active in sports on these fields , adults and children alike.
