SUBMISSION TERMS
By submitting your story, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
City Lore retains the right to remove submitted stories from the site at any time and for any reason. City Lore also retains the right to edit stories to correct spelling, grammar, and minor issues of clarity.
Your story (including any artwork or photographs) (“Submission”) must be original and must not contain any music or otherwise infringe upon any rights of any third party, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, and rights of privacy and publicity. By including any photo or artwork in your submission you represent and warrant you have all necessary licenses and permissions necessary to do so and to be in compliance with the terms and conditions contained in this agreement. By providing your Submission you grant City Lore, Inc. (“City Lore”) a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, unrestricted, irrevocable and fully sublicensable right and license (but not the obligation) to consider, disclose, post on the website or other websites, broadcast, use, re-use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, re-distribute, publicly perform and/or display your Submission (in whole or in part or as modified in City Lore’s sole discretion), and/or incorporate all or part of your Submission and use it (or not) in all media now known or hereafter devised, including by way of example only and without limitation, on the internet, in books (electronic or otherwise), in any home video format or on any mobile cell phone service. Your submission may be used to promote City Lore and any activity of City Lore. You acknowledge that the consideration for the rights you grant City Lore in your Submission is, among other things, the possibility of City Lore's review or use of your Submission. You will not receive any compensation of any kind for your Submission. Your entry will not be acknowledged, returned or held in confidence.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless City Lore and any affiliates, officers, agents, partners, and employees, from any loss, liability, claim, or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, made by any third party with respect to your Submission due to or arising from a breach by you of this agreement and/or any representations and warranties set forth in it.
This submission agreement supercedes any and all agreements or communications of any kind between you and City Lore relating to your Submission; it cannot be modified or waived except in writing and unless properly signed. THIS SUBMISSION AGREEMENT IS GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF NEW YORK STATE WITHOUT REGARD TO CHOICE OF LAW RULES.
